Fisher Plow Cylinder
It worked up down side to side. I saw a light out but I just figured it needed a bulb. Great I put it away until the other day. Got the plow out changed the fluid, filter cleaned up so rust a little paint and changed the bulb. Hmm still did not work. Soldered the wires and heat shrinked everything.

Plum it to your aux hyd like the cylinders are plumbed to the plow pump. It won’t blow out the angle cylinders at least mine didn’t The high flow and pressure will snap the blade from side to side quick and tear up the stops and pivots though. If you feather the aux, you can be gentle on it. Drill a small hole in the bushing, test, increase the size of the hole as needed to regulate flow.
Any good parts counter guy will know what you need, I’ve done it quite a few times. Aside from that, I just picked up a quik-tatch plate of ebay and welded the plow a frame too it. This is called an orifice, which would slow the blade down, but not do anything for the pressure. A typical skid steer is pushing psi, most truck mounted blades are pushing psi, which is why you need some kind o relief. If the parts guy has no idea what an orifice is you could also accomplish this by putting really small hydraulic lines, like a -4, rather than a Most hydraulic shops carry orifice fittings like you mentioned.

I had 3 pre DD blizzards and nothing but problems and failures. I love the shoebox, very intuitive. The western has a round support bar running length of plow. And the fisher has an even beefier square tube the length of the plow. You are correct and I was wrong, they are different on top. Round tube is stronger than square tube I was referring to the bottom where the cutting edge attaches. The WipeOot and “Blizzard” are the same, they have an angle there “supporting” it.

A plow will need regular maintenance. Chuck Smith has put together a great list of fall maintenance and emergency supplies for your plow. Please check out his tips here and also visit his main page at Chuck’s Chevy Page. Chuck’s plow page is full of real world information and pictures. A lot of this advice may be scary for a person just wanting to plow their driveway.
Well, a lot of the above is set up for the worst case situation. If you have a small driveway and are careful moving snow around your driveway, you can get many years of use out of a plow. If you don’t expect to be able to plow huge parking lots or highways, most any well equipped truck with a plow can move your snow. Some of the things you should ask yourself are: Will I be plowing only my driveway? What is the deepest that the snow will ever be?
Will this be for commercial use?
Wide out vs. power plow
My buddy uses his strictly for snow plowing his business’s driveway. I use mine to plow a mile long crushed stone private road. Both use older Western-brand 8′ truck snow plows. The only thing that we used was the blade itself and the A-frame my buddy kept the factory angle cylinders and controls them using his aux. My buddy kept the trip springs since he runs into curbs and cracks in the driveway; I made mine stiff or rigid since I will be using it to doze dirt and snow.
The Code of Federal Regulations is kept up to date by the individual issues of the Federal Register. These two publications must be used together to determine the latest version of any given rule. My father and I built a adapter “plate” to mount to the quick attach system of the which offered the use of forks we made and a truck plow. Now it works on the B. The plow is an old Fisher plow about 8′ from a pickup truck. The adapater plate is generally shaped as a triangle. The frame material is 2″ receiver tube. There are two forward facing 2″ receiver tubes which allow for hitch type implements such as the forks or a trailer ball.
The top 2″ receiver tube has a hook welded to it and this is where the chain of the plow is held in place. I have a few degrees of motion available with the plow and the normal movement by the FEL. When I have heavy snow I keep the plow straight. But during clean up I can angle the blade and it works great. I don’t see much side to side motion of the FEL.
I can try to get some pictures of of the unit mounted. I am in the process of up grading the tractor so unless it snows I won’t be mounting the plow before I trade the tractor.

If the motor runs and no valves open, the plow goes left. On older Toggle control harnesses the power wire was black with an inline 20 amp glass fuse. On newer Toggle control harnesses the power wire is dark blue with an inline 20 amp ATC fuse. There is no ground wire for toggle switch controls. Older Meyer Motor Solenoids had a single small terminal, where the white wire is connected.
The Mounting Bracket on the Motor Solenoid had to be mounted to a good ground for the Motor Solenoid to work properly.
One reason I have been using Blizzard snow plows is the super easy hook up and unhook feature. It uses the hydrualics and some fancy fold out legs to make it very simple and safe to hook up and unhook.
I could hook up my buddies 9. Typing “Fisher Plow” on my small local craigslist results in literally results for me to choose from The little Homesteaders have their OWN style mounting plates for some odd reason and are not compatible at all with all the other plows Fisher makes wiring can be the same though. The Homesteader is fine for a tar driveway, but for longer dirt roads etc, you really need a trip edge style plow and not the flimsy light weight set up that the whole moldboard folds when hitting a bump.
I consider it a prerequisite for owning a plow, that you own a few metal working tools. Had an S10, it was the zr2 version. Intended it for a plow, but at the time, nobody sold such flimsy plows as homesteaders that would easily self destruct instead of crumpling the frame. When you pushed the plow manufacturers, they came back with something along the lines of “can’t, we tried it and twisted up the truck’s frame”.
When that S10 was being readied for the wreckers, I took a careful look at its frame next to the Tacoma, and it was pretty obvious where the S10 would fail — the section just ahead of the front cab body mounts that curves in and up. And then, of course, you can’t have your GM guys asking questions like “hey, why does a Toyota get a good plow and we get this pink barbie plow?

With the advent of the automobile, a number of inventors set about to improve existing snowplows. In the US, patents were issued for snowplow improvements at least as early as In , the brothers Hans and Even Everaasen of Norway constructed an early snowplow for use on cars. This proved to be the start of a tradition in snow-clearing equipment for roads, railways and airports, as well as the foundation of the company Everaasen Snow Removal Systems.
His company, Frink Snowplows, now Frink-America, was founded by some accounts as early as Today there are several companies manufacturing snow plows here is a list and some information about some of them.

DISCLAIMER: I do not endorse or recommend any of the plows or manufacturers listed on this the other hand, if a complete 8 foot V-plow setup were to show up on my doorstep, I might change my mind, even an 8 foot straight blade would probably change my mind.
Submit Your Own Review Review by: Used for the first time this season, living near Buffalo NY we get plenty of snow. It worked very well. Did a lot of research and looking into this plow and it just plain and simple works. Mine was purchased used, but there is nothing to go wrong with them. I would recommend this to anyone. It pushed thru 2 feet of powder, and the same heavy wet snow later in the week with no issues.
Only complaint it the plow markers, They need to be taller and a brighter color. Have a pic before the snow. I added up the cost plus chains and I would still be in the cold. I live on a gravel lane, my daughter has a long gravel lane also. Church parking lot cleared for service, no problem. After 10 years I traded my F for a Silverado. Only had to purchase a new truck mount.
